php - I want to put register page link in magento subcategory

basically I want to callregister/sign-up page link inmagento subcategory (from dropdown link)..

I have tried two things

1) Creatingcustom url rewriting frommagento backend

2) Creating astatic block and puttingregister.phtml in that block, and calling the static block in category..

inurl rewriting I am not getting the page, actuallysign-up page is getting redirected tocategory page :P... and instatic block the form is not loading giving errorcall to undefined member function...

any help would be appreciated.
